Abundance Hack: Ditch the Sneaky Fingers, Magnet in the Good Vibes, Watch Prosperity Explode (Seriously)
Inspiration: Upon returning home from my holidays in Florida, I came to find my car handle damaged from attempted car theft.
We’ve all felt the itch, haven’t we? That subtle tug towards a pen left carelessly on a desk, a forgotten scarf draped over a chair, a book peeking from an overflowing bag. It’s not like taking it would hurt anyone, right? They wouldn’t miss it, wouldn’t care. But that justification hides a deeper truth: the choice to take, however small, reflects a scarcity mindset masquerading as convenience. It’s a tiny crack in our moral compass, a reminder that abundance lies not in what we acquire but in the integrity of our choices.
The intriguing concept that the act of taking or stealing items not rightfully ours does more than just infringe on others’ rights — it perpetuates a mindset of lack and scarcity. Such behavior not only reflects but also reinforces the belief that desired things cannot be obtained through legitimate means, setting a cycle of negativity in motion.
Roots of Scarcity:
This “lack mindset” is a psychological state where resources feel scarce and elusive. It says that good things are limited, that abundance belongs to others, and that our desires can only be fulfilled through shortcuts, even unethical ones. It’s a stark contrast to the “abundance mindset,” a perspective where there’s enough for everyone, where success can be built through honest effort, and where our inner world shapes our external reality.
This sense of lack often stems from a complex interplay of societal pressures, financial insecurity, and past experiences. We see wealth concentrated in the hands of a few, while our own dreams seem tantalizingly out of reach. The constant bombardment of consumerism fuels desires that our wallets can’t always keep up with. And past experiences of deprivation or witnessing a loved one's struggle can further engrain this perception of scarcity.
Stealing erodes personal integrity, chipping away at the foundation of trust we build with ourselves and others. It sends a subtle message that rules can be bent, that ethics are situational, and that the ends justify the means.
From A Spiritual or Universal Perspective:
The law of attraction suggests that like attracts like, and our desire fueled by taking reinforces the belief that we only find abundance through dishonest means. This paradox perpetuates the cycle of lack, keeping us trapped in a self-fulfilling prophecy of limitation.
Cultivating An Abundance Mindset Starts With Gratitude:
Appreciating what we already have, no matter how small. It involves focusing on generosity: giving freely to others, knowing that true abundance expands when shared. And it requires choosing ethical actions: aligning our desires with integrity, even when it’s tempting to take shortcuts.
“Mine” and “Yours”:
NO judgment on your past actions or shaming anyone who’s ever taken something not their own. It’s about offering a lens to examine our internal narratives, recognize the hidden costs of unethical acquisition, and choose a path toward greater fulfillment. Choosing abundance doesn’t guarantee overnight success, but it opens doors to a world where opportunities arise from aligned actions, generosity thrives, and the “mine” and “yours” dissolve into shared well-being.
Reflect on your own beliefs about acquisition and possession. Practice gratitude for what you have, engage in acts of generosity, and make conscious choices toward ethical living. Every step towards abundance, however small, contributes to a collective shift towards a world where the true wealth lies not in what we take but in the abundance we create together.
